Guest Artist #3: Isobel Atacus

July 2025

Exhibition Opening 17 July

This month our guest artist is Isobel Atacus

Isobel Atacus is an artist living and working in London (UK). Her practice incorporates sculpture, text and performance, through which she questions the fleeting and ambiguous nature of interactions that take place in the physical realm. Playfully re-directing and re-describing the streams of information that come at us from all sides, Atacus creates scenarios and encounters where rules are wilfully misapplied. Her curatorial work, teaching and pedagogy frequently take collaborative form, and she has just completed a practice-based PhD between King’s College London and the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL. Alongside her individual practice she directs the icing room artist run space.

Performance by The Saras

Saturday 14 June

Kallidromiou Farmers’ Market

Join us for a ritual improvisational procession of sun-moon Sara and moon-sun Sara, exploring the cyclical nature of time (before they bring their performance to Waking Life festival in Portugal).

Guest Artist #2: Sara Cowdell

June 2025

This month our guest artist is Sara Cowdell.

Sara Cowdell is a New Zealand performance artist and curator. She is the director and founder of Performance Art Week Aotearoa, as well as an independent curator.

As a performance artist, Cowdell utilizes multiple modalities including action, costume, somatics, and ethnography to explore society through a formalized and qualitative intimacy. Cowdell’s work strives for a raw viscerality and lingers on the uncomfortable textures of lived experience. **She screams the words you keep trying to swallow because they feel so unbearably uncomfortable in your mouth.**

Cowdell has worked extensively with site-specific practices and has created and presented work in numerous political, natural, and unusual sites, alongside traditional arts and theatre spaces. She has presented work across South Korea, Germany, Denmark, India, U.S.A, Australia and New Zealand.

In 2025 she will be presenting new performance works at Turku New Performance Festival Finland and Waking Life Festival Portugal.

Guest Artists: Omer Gal and Krystal Burns

May 2025

This month our guest artists are Omer Gal and Krystal Burns, aka Cookie Tongue and Sweet Oddity.

Omer is an international artist and musician, currently living in New Orleans. Along with Omer’s art comes his music, puppetry and sound work, which he incorporates into performance, ritual movement, drawing, animation and video. His short stop motion animation works and videos have been featured at international festivals and galleries.

His theatrical musical project “Cookie Tongue” started in 2011. Cookie Tongue is a theatrical freak folk musical menagerie led with puppetry, animation, butoh-inspired dance, and ritual magic, featuring original songs and whimsical interludes inspired by Cookie Tongue's surreal mythology, fairytales, childhood, ghost stories, and a sprinkle of the occult. Performed with guitar, singing saw, glockenspiel, organ, bells, drums, experimental percussion, and orphaned toys to send you tumbling down the Cookie hole, through sugar ash and rolling sleeves of starlight, "spellbound, tasting of a world just beyond."
